Two terrorists killed in encounter in J&K's Budgam district

Indian Army neutralized two Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists in an encounter in Hayatpora village of Chadoora in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Saturday.


According to information, a patrolling party of the 53 Rashtriya Rifles were attacked by the terrorists at round 6 pm in the village, a police official said, "This triggered gunbattle between the terrorists and security forces."

He also said reinforcements were deployed to the area and an operation was launched to eliminate the terrorists, during which they were killed.An AK-47 rifle and some ammunition has been recovered from the site, the official added.

Meanwhile, Army's Srinagar-based spokesperson, Col. Rajesh Kalia too confirmed the incident. "No security personnel or civilian was injured in the operation," Kalia said, adding that the operation was carried out with caution to ensure that there is no collateral damage.
