Girl, 17, raped at Nagpur MLA Hostel

A teenage girl was allegedly raped by two persons, including her boyfriend at MLA Hostel of Nagpur which is the home city of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over a period of four days.  Gittikhadan police have arrested the accused and obtained four days police custody. The accused have been identified as -- Rajat Bhadre (19), a resident of Nelson Square, and Manoj Bhagat (44), a resident of Gittikhadan.

A senior police official informed that Bhagat met her parents on April 14 at their residence. He told them that he would like to take the teenager girl along on the trip as he and his family were travelling to Bhopal. However Bhagat drove the car directly to to MLA Hostel and sexually exploited her in car.




With the help of MLA Hostel employees, Bhagat booked a room (320) at MLA Hostel where he allegedly raped her for four days. The police said, Bhagat was exploiting the girl in day hours while Bhadre, who is the boyfriend of the girl, was exploiting her in night hours.

The girl returned home alone on April 18 and did not narrated the incident to parents. However, Bhagat arrived at girl’s house on Wednesday and told her parents that the girl was not with him for four days and picked up a quarrel with her parents. Angry over Bhagat’s behaviour, the girl packed her bag and fled from the house. As the girl did not return home and her phone was switched off, the parents approached Gittikhadan Police Station and lodged a complaint. The cops immediately swung into action and registered the case under Section 363 and arrested Bhagat. 

During interrogation, Bhagat told the police about Rajat Bhadre. The cops immediately rounded up Bhadre from his residence who told the police that the girl is going to another city by a train. The cops contacted the girl deboarded her at Katol Railway Station.

In her statement, the girl narrated the incident and lodged a complaint. She was sent for medical examination. Gittikhadan cops have added Section 376 (d) of Indian Penal Code read with sub-sections 3, 4 of Protection of children from sexual offences act.
